Isle of Man TT - Wednesday Practice: Gary
Johnson - Blog

Hey there,
Right before I start with tonight's blog, I am absolutely
naked after it all... We set off on the Sbk. we've tried
a few different things and I set off straight away fast
down Bray and I knew the changes hadn't worked.
Lougher had set off with us and Cam 10sec in front,
by time I was in Glen Helen I'd caught up with Cam but
couldn't get passed him safe but thought I could maybe
learn a few things off him! But this stability problem
was still making me hang on for dear life at times,
by the time I was at Sulby the bike was trying to go
down it sideways.
Lougher came past me and him and Cam disappeared while
I went through the speed trap at 140mph)l. I went to
put the brakes on and all that wiggling had pushed the
pads out so I had to over shoot... I rejoined and cruised
back home trying to figure out what would help this
problem.
Stocker for a lap and the changes we made had made a
definite improvement so I was well happy there'd been
an accident in the Ginger Hall section near the council
works with Olie Lindsdell (that's fast through there
so fingers crossed he's all ok!!) then just brought
her home but the gearbox did miss a few beats on the
way.
The Sbk next and we still weren't winning with this
thing in a straight line, I'll end up with shoulder
muscles like the Hulk at this rate :) so I just keep
using these laps to see my way round.
Then for a lap on the 600, she's not causing us many
problems really apart from missing a couple of ponies
but with the flags for Olie and oil down at the 33rd,
which meant we was down to 2nd gear to go past marshals
on the track, was about on 121 lap, so need a bit more
but happy enough.
SBK again and we try'd lowering this time, and straight
away she was no good, so just stopped made a change
which was no improvement so limped round to the end
learning, but by god riding theses things fast enough
to learn things on has taken it out on my body. Feels
like I've been wrestling a bear for the few hrs out
there :)
Were going in a different direction for thurs so fingers
crossed again... thank god for this nice weather..!
Still who cares,,, we're flying round closed roads flat-out
having a right good time, speak to you all tomoz.
All the best GAZ.
