Six and a
quarter hours after its original start time the
2008 Manx Grand Prix races finally saw
the opening race of the meeting get underway as
numbers 1& 2, Ivan Lintin and James Redpath,
both of whom were on GSXR 750cc Suzuki machines
set off down Glencrutchery Road in the MMCC Newcomers
Race. |

The sun actually
managed to break through as the Silver Jubilee Classic
Senior race got underway at 6.00pm, over
a reduced race distance of three laps, 113.19-miles.
By Ramsey on the opening lap Gary Johnson on the
MV Agusta held a 6.33 second lead over 2007 winner
Ryan Farquhar who had a nine second advantage over
Alan Oversby. |

days racing at the 2008 Manx Grand Prix was once
again delayed by poor weather conditions resulting
in racing being held back until 3.00pm,
with the roads closing one hour previously.
