Manchester rider Steve McDonald
is hoping that a recent sponsorship boost will go some
distance to realising his dream of competing at the
Isle of Man TT Races. Based in Whitefield, McDonald
has just taken delivery of a new Kawasaki ZX-10R from
Alan Jennings of Jennings Race Products and this compliments
his ZX-6R, which he plans to use in the Supersport class.
Racing at the TT has been the 39-year old’s dream
for some time now and 2006 saw him put together a solid
season of racing. The Manx GP was again his highlight
and he managed to finish 45th in the Senior and 54th
in the Junior, also improving his lap times to a new
personal best of 107.771mph. He also scored a fifth
place finish in the 750cc Support B Race at the Skerries
100.
With qualification times and standards of competition
higher than ever before, McDonald will find out in the
next few months if his entry has been successful. |
