Live Updates from Kells

Postby Live Team » July 17th, 2011, 10:52 am

Good morning from a rather soggy Kells.

Riders briefing taking place at the minute. All riders names called and they must collect a helmet sticker, if not displayed they wont be allowed to race.

No rain at the minute but declared wet racing for the time being although riders say roads not wet enough for wet tyres. C of C says they must use wets.

Roads close at 11am

Grand Final practice out 1st.

Superbikes away on untimed practice. Roads still damp but no rain at present. Riders have been informed that yellow flags will be displayed at both sets of jumps due to cross winds.
Donald putting in quick laps.

600s away on warm up lap as a drizzle comes on and the roads are damp again.

Donald changes from an intermediate to a full wet and is last away.

Delays on the grid leading to irrate riders here as some riders changing wheels but they're ready to go now without Farrell and Sweeney.

Racing very tight at the front with the Dunlop brothers and Donald side by side over the line at half distance.Nothing between them at all.

Last lap flag and W Dunlop has pulled out a second over brother Michael with Donald still close in 3rd.
Its all about the podium places and at the last corner MD almost gets round the outside of WD but William gets the drive to the line for the win by 0.122 from Michael with Donald 5.419 back from the leader.

Then it was Burrows, Sheils, Kirwan, Shanley and Courtney.

125s out next
