I am not someone who attends rally racing but as a motorsport fan this is terribly tragic news and my thoughts and prayers are with the relatives and friends of those killed.
Consistent with my views on roadracing, I am fully supportive of the driver's wish to participate in this sport and the rights of organisers and spectators to participate in the sport they love. I do however think it will be interesting to see if rallying gets the bashing roadracing gets everytime there is fatality. On the hand I really hope it doesn't and yet if this proves to be the case then we may well be left scratching our heads as to why our sport gets such a kicking in the media.

I reckon the rallying fraternity will be lambasted as is bikesport. Remember a few yrs ago the same thing happened resulting in tip. Chickens and the demise of prototype cars. This unfortunately will be another big hammer to beat motorsport in general
