Armoy 2012

Postby bloofox » July 30th, 2012, 2:30 pm

Just returned from Armoy at the weekend and I've got to say that I think that the AMRRC deserve all the support and respect in the world...to organise and run such a tremendous event with such an outstanding field of riders and teams shows that real road racing is alive and well in N.I....

That was my first time at Armoy and, for the 4 of us who went from Sunderland, it was the best weekend of 2012...The racing, the facilities available, the entertainment and the people we met made it impossible not to come back..and an especially massive thanks to the staff on the circuit and at the paddock for running a truly outstanding show..No one can control the weather but it didn't matter to us and it didn't look like it stopped anyone else from having a ball either !!..

Somehow you just know Armoy is going to grow and grow with people like that involved...

The only thing I would have changed was the attitude of some people who just threw their litter across the village and surrounding circuit area like a 5 year old throws toys in a bedroom...no regard for the local people who did the work in organising the event and no respect for the people who volunteer to clean it up when everyone has gone home.. Not funny, not funny at all....

Anyway, Thanks again to all at AMRRC and to the people of Armoy ... see you all again next year, with a bigger crew from Sunderland...count on it !

Glad you enjoyed the trip. We generally are a friendly bunch over here, but you're right we do have some of the biggest litter louts in the planet. It really gets on my goat why people can't take their litter home. If some livestock come to grief over a discarded plastic bag or other rubbish then we'll soon end up with farmer saying no to the racing and no to spectating on their land.
A little respect for other peoples property is all thats needed.
