I'm almost sure that i heard recently this was the 50th year that Denis has been racing at Skerries.

Denis first raced in 1957 at Errol in Perthshire. I think he won the 250 Irish championship way back in 1965. To still be racing competitively is incredible.

I have contacted Paul Owen and Maria Costello and asked if they can use there influence in and around the paddock at the Ulster to see what other riders feelings would be about this, hopefully get a few names etc!.

Purely by chance I was going over some of my past motorcycling and I wondered what had happened to Denis Gallacher and googling it brought up your info. I knew Denis many years ago when I lived in Scotland and I and others from the Avon Valley Motorcycle Club went along to support him and others in the club who were into road racing. We travelled to all the circuits in Scotland, Ireland, Isle of Man and the North of England. I can't remember much of the details now, after all this time but he was a long time member of the Avon Valley MCC and may still be a member and there should be members who can give you more up to date info.
Certainly Denis was one of the good guys.

Just an update on what I have been up to concerning this topic. To date I have contacted the MCUI and have had contact from Mr David McCalister and have been asked to contact him at the UGP which I will be doing. David has indicated he could collect perhaps 50 names from members of the MCUI.
I have e-mailed the Motorcycle news(MCN) and to date have had no reply(no money to be made so perhaps I will be ignored) Have e-mailed the ACU and to date no response. I have just e-mailed the SACU so awaiting a response from them.
I did send messages on facebook to Maria Costello and Paul Owen but did say I would seek them out at the Ulster Grand Prix, I contacted these two as I knowthey are popular riders in and around the paddock so hopefully will meet up and see if they could rally support.
Not forgetting Baylon who was straight back to me and we may meet up when I am over for the UGP.
If anyone can offer any advice on how to move this forward I would be greatful.

I think your best bet is to speak to Ian Paisley Jr and Sammy Wilson. I've no doubt they'd back the move 100%. Its good for the sport of motorcycling and its good to demonstrate to the wider community that age shouldn't be a barrier to competing in sport or anything else.
