DUKE RANKINGS: Farquhar Dominates Mid Antrim 150!

Postby Admin » June 19th, 2012, 9:56 pm

After the euphoria of the Isle of Man TT Races, road racing returned to its routes for the ninth round of the 2012 Duke Road Race Rankings at the Mid Antrim 150 National Road Races held in Northern Ireland. Held in damp and changeable conditions, the Mid Antrim 150 Road Races provided current Rankings leader Ryan Farquhar with five race wins plus two new lap records bringing his total victories on the 3.539-mile Clough Course to an amazing 27 and his tally of Irish road race wins since 1995 to 187!

Nearest challengers, brothers Michael and Wiliam Dunlop sat out the event, with TT Winner Michael spannering for John Burrows, which took some of the pressure off the Ryan - even so the Dungannon rider excelled in every race he started and battles for the remaining podium places were fought out to the chequered linen in every race. John Burrows climbs three places to 11th after taking second in the SuperTwins, fifth in the Supersport and third in the Grand Final, whilst Derek Sheils enjoyed a fourth in the Superbike, third in the Supersport and second in the Grand Final to advance him nine places to 12th spot.

Another nine place climber is fellow Southern Irish rider Michael Sweeney having taken third in the Superbike, second in the Supersport and sixth in the Grand Final and first 600 home to claim the much coveted Victor Gilmore Trophy for this efforts in the feature race.
